NFL Week 1 – Game Recaps

The season started with a great game between the World Champs, New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers, on a night filled with emotions, great plays and a challenging competition between this two teams, and this was just the tip of the iceberg!  Because I know you want to be updated about everything that´s going on at the NFL, let’s recap the games highlights and get ready for the upcoming week.

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1) 21 – New England Patriots (1-0) 28 (Kickoff)

Great opening game night, and even better for New England.

Tom Brady opened the stats of the season with 4 touchdown passes, 3 of them sent to his favorite teammate Rob Gronkowski, Brady went 25-32 and 288 yards. Patriots dominated the entire game, despite the football scandal and the fact that his QB almost miss the 1st 4 games of the season. New England Patriots, WR Julian Edelman went for 11 grabs + 97 yards. Steelers’ offense was effective to cover Roethlisberger, but not enough to stop New England, Ben went 26-38, 351 yards and one touchdown.

Green Bay Packers (1-0) 31 – Chicago Bears (1-0) 23

Packers beat the Bears for the 10th time in 11 games and this time, thanks to the connection between Aaron Rodgers and James Jones. Rodgers went for 3 touchdowns (2 of them to Jones), 18-23 and 189 yards. Bears QB Cutler, went for 18-36, 22 yards and only 1 TD. Great start for Packers on their opening game.

Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) 27 – Houston Texans (0-1) 20

Chiefs handled Texans on Sunday thanks to Alex Smith, the QB threw 3 touchdowns, 22-33 passes and 243 yards, winning the opening game over Houston 27-20. Travis Kelce caught 2 TD’s and intercepted the 1st throw of Hoyer as part of Texans.

Cleveland Browns (0-1) 10 – New York Jets (1-0) 31

Cleveland Browns got beat up by the New York Jets 10-31 on the season opener game on Sunday. Ryan Fitzpatrick went for 2 TD passes, 15-24 and 179 yards and Chris Ivory for 2 scores in Coach Bowles’ debut. Johnny Manziel went for 13-24, 182 yards, 1 interception and 1 TD.

Indianapolis Colts (0-1) 14 – Buffalo Bills (1-0) 27

Buffalo Bills’ Tyrod Taylor, who send 3 TDs’ drives and the offense team, upset Andrew Luck and Colts 27-14 in the opening season victory on Sunday. Taylor open his career with 14-19, 195 yards and 1 TD 51 yard pass to Percy Harvin, while Dixon and rookie Williams scored 2 rushing TD’s helped Bills coach win his debut with the team.

Miami Dolphins (1-0) 17 – Washington Redskins (1-0) 10

Redskins dominated the opening game against Dolphins with more yards and time possession but the team efforts was not enough to avoid the defeat.  Miami took over the score board to win the game 17-10 over Washington. Jarvis Landry 69 yard return for a TD seal the victory with only 10 minutes left on the clock. Tannehill went 22-34, 226 yards and 1 TD, Cousins went for 21-31, 196 yards and 1 TD.

Carolina Panthers (1-0) 20 – Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) 09

Panther’s offensive did their job on Sunday, while defensive Josh Norman returned an interception in the 3rd quarter for a TD, to help the team defeat Jaguars in the season opener game on Sunday 20-9. Panthers QB Newton went for 18-31, 175 yards and 1 TD, while Bortles, Jaguars QB did it for 22-40, 183 yards and 1 TD.

Seattle Seahawks (0-1) 31 – ST. Louis Rams (1-0) 34

The 2 time defending NFC Champs, Seattle Seahawks went all the way down to OT against St. Louis Rams, but at the end, a 37 yard kick from Greg Zuerlein, help Rams defeat Seahawks 34-31, in the season opener game, on Sunday. Foles went for 18-27, 297 yards and a TD, while Wilson, 32-41, 251 yards and a TD.

New Orleans Saints (0-1) 19 – Arizona Cardinals (1-0) 31

The aggressive game of Cardinals against Saints, helped them win the season opener game on Sunday 19 – 31. Carson Palmer went for 3 TD’s, 19-32, 307 yards in his game back from injury. Brees went for 30 – 48, 355 yards and a TD, but still Arizona dominated the game and took the victory home.

Detroit Lions (0-1) 28 – San Diego Chargers (1-0) 33.

Chargers overcame a really slow start on Sunday, taking the advantage of the game in the 2nd half to take the victory over Detroit 28-33. Phillip River went for 35-42, 404 yards and 2 TD’s, while Stafford 19-30, 246 yards and 2 TD.

Tennessee Titans (1-0) 42 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1) 14  

Marcus Mariota, rookie from Oregon, outplayed #1 draft pick Jameis Wiston and help the Tennessee Titans take the victory over Buccaneers on Sunday, season opener for both QB. Mariota went for 13-16, 206 yards and 4 TD’s. Wiston 16-33, 210 yards and 2 TD. Great debut game for both QBs’.

Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) 33 – Oakland Raiders (0-1) 13

Andy Dalton and Bengals took advantage of QB Derek Carr´s hand injury in the second quarter, to beat Oakland Raiders 33-13 on Sunday. Dalton went 2-34, 269 yards and 2 TD to TE Tyler Eifert to give coach Del Rio the victory of his game debut with the team.

Baltimore Ravens (0-1) 13 – Denver Broncos (1-0) 19

Coach Kubiak debuted, with Denver Broncos to take the 1st victory of Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning, on the season opener game against Baltimore Ravens 13-19. Former Ravens Darian Stewart, who moved with the coach to Denver, intercepted the ball from Crockett Gilmore with only 28 seconds left, giving the victory to Denver’s team.

New York Giants (0-1) 26 – Dallas Cowboys (1-0) 27

Tony Romo went 36-4, 356 yards and 3 touchdowns to help the Cowboys overcome 3 turnovers to take the victory away from the Giants by the minimum, 26-27 on the opening game on Sunday. Eli Manning went for 20-36, 193 yards and no TD’s.

Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) 24 – Atlanta Falcons (1-0) 26

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan and WR Julio Jones were the center of the 1st game of the Monday Night double header, football action. Jones went for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns to beat Philadelphia Eagles and took the 1st victory on the season opener game 26-24. Ryan went 23-34, 298 yards and 2 TD’s.

Minnesota Vikings (0-1) 03 – San Francisco 49ers (1-0) 20

 Adrian Peterson return wasn’t as good as expected.  Carlos Hyde and San Francisco 49ers beat the Minnesota Vikings 20-3, on the second game of the 1st Monday Night Football game. Kaepernick was strong, precise and dominate the entire show, he went for 17-26, 165 yards and no touchdowns.
